| The campsite is located on the outskirts of the hamlet Foros do Barão, where the population still lives from their own land and animals. Here they make goats cheese, grow oranges and other fruit, keep black pigs and goats, peel cork, hunt boar and game and make wine and olive oil. Often a shepherd will let his 200 sheep graze just outside the area. There are many beautiful and interesting towns to visit e.g. Alentejan villages where time seems to have stood still or cities with Roman and Moorish influences such as Évora or the fairytale-like Sintra. Lisbon is well worth visiting and you can visit the many local markets and "Festas". |
